News:
President’s Visit: President Mary McAleese and her husband, Dr. Martin McAleese, visited the Antrim Road to celebrate the very successful parental partnership between Edmund Rice PS, Star of the Sea PS, New Lodge Nursery and Victoria Nursery. The President spoke fondly of her family links with the Edmund Rice PS, Pim St.
Rice Cup: Edmund Rice CBPS made their own bit of history when they won the Rice Cup for the first time.
Founded in 1967, the school has been knocking on the door for over forty years.
Armagh CBS have dominated this competition for the last thirteen years. The competition, for past and present Christian Brothers Primary Schools, has been held annually since 1960.
Held at a sun-soaked Pairc Ésler in Newry, Edmund Rice performed heroics all day with victories over Abbey Newry, St Colmcilles Omagh, Park Lodge Belfast and Armagh CBS. The final between the top two, Armagh and Pim Street, was always going to be close.
The Belfast boys had the answers every time and as the final whistle sounded, the relief was visible on all their faces as they knew they had written themselves into the folklore of Edmund Rice CBPS Pim Street.
Bro. Hamill Cup: After winning the Rice Cup, the boys from the New Lodge followed this victory by lifting the Bro. Hamill Cup for hurling. There was just no stopping the Pim Street boys.
Team captains of Rice Cup – Daniel Moore and Rory McFadden.
Bro. Hamill Cup – Thomas Poland and Aodhán Flynn
