Visit of Holocaust Survivor to C.B.S. Roscommon
The school community in C.B.S. Roscommon were privileged to host the visit of Holocaust survivor Mr Tomi Reichental, who visited the school on Thursday 8th March 2010 to speak to our Senior students about his personal experiences as a child in the , Belsen /Bergen concentration camps which were under Nazi rule .
Mr Reichental was invited to the C.B.S as part of a schools programme run by the Holocaust Educational Trust of Ireland, which aims to educate and inform young people about the horrors of racism and intolerance towards minority communities.
The students present felt privileged to hear first hand his and his family experiences at the hands of the Fascist Nazi regime operating at the time in his homeland of Slovakia. The school community would like to express their sincere thanks to the Parents Council for organising the event.
